Women In Private Investigation
Old Hollywood movies tended to portray private investigators as men who were always dark and mysterious. These dark and mysterious private investigators were further given the roles of saviors as they usually whisked off a distressed damsel to safety. In other words, the women in old movies were helpless and needed rescuing from trouble by private investigators.
These days, it’s a different ball game. Women are now taking the lead in Hollywood movies as excellent private investigators. These days, female private investigators on television don’t need
any rescuing. Modern day Hollywood portrayal of women is simply a reflection of what is obtainable in the society.
Jobs that used to be considered strictly for men are now being taken over by women and private investigation is one of those jobs. Movies such as Agatha Christies’ ‘Miss Marple’ and Nancy Drew spurned a desire in the hearts of many women to venture into the job of private investigation.
Women used to be banned from private investigation because of the dangers inherent in the job. In private investigation, there is a high risk of death, especially from people who don’t want the truth dug up. However, women who are private investigators seem to be coping quite well with this threat. As a female private investigator, you have an edge over men because you can get into places they can’t. Whether women choose to deny it or not, their femininity works to their advantage in the search for answers.
While it’s a man’s world, women are the ones that seem to wield the most influence. If you are a woman who is considering becoming a private investigator, go for it. Women are proving that they are better private investigators than men these days.
